Lava Cameos are much rarer than the more usual shell cameos. Here is a Victorian lava cameo brooch which has been carved as a bacchanalia. This Lava Cameo is set into a gold plated frame. The cameo its self is carved in high relief with lots of detail. This antique brooch measures about 3.3 cms long and fastens on the back with a simple C catch.
