This antique Victorian cameo brooch features Aurora Goddess of the Dawn accompanied by the Genius of light. Aurora rises every morning just before the sun and crosses the sky spreading flowers as she goes. She is accompanied by the Genius of light, the torch bearer. This lovely cameo was hand carved in shell and is set into a gold tone frame. There are no lines in the cameo of any sort. The reverse of the frame only shows signs of minor old repairs. This brooch measures about 6 x 4.7 cms and dates from the mid victorian era
