A striking pair of shoe buckles from the Georgian era. These come in their original box. The buckles have cut steel around the edge and have fine leather in the middle. When you turn these over then one is stamped as L and the other as R for left and right. You can press a button and the clip arrangement springs back to attach them to your shoes. Both are in full working order.
The original box is lined with a purple blue coloured velvet and satin. There is a little damage to one corner of the outside of the box but it is around 200 years old now and the catch and hinge are fully working.
Each buckle is just under 2 1/2 inches wide. . Minor indentations in the leather.
