Vintage Compacts and Cases

 Here is a pretty silver pill box or keep safe which is fully hallmarked for Birmingham 1909. The top is set with a decorative panel including a floral basket and swags design. The top measures 3.5 cms diameter and the box stands 2.3 cms high.
There are several small dents to the silver. The top fits well and the design on top is in good condition.

Vintage accessories are very collectable today. A stunning vintage enamel powder compact - this has blue enamel on the back and around the edge whilst the lid has a central panel with an enameled country scene. The enamel is in really excellent condition. Open the lid and inside is a sifter compartment for your powder and  a mirror inside the lid. The mirror has lost silvering from the back but the glass is not broken in any way. This compact will date from circa 1920s / 1930s. It measures about 6 cms diameter

 With full silver hallmarks for 1919, this miniature compact shows the beginnings of art deco design tith the straight line engraving. There are the initials HH on the lid. The compact measures about 3.1 cms diameter and weighs about 6.6 grams

 A lovely old silver compact . This compact has detailed engraving on the lid. It opens to show a mirror and its original puff and sifter inside This silver compact comes complete in its original fabric pouch.
The compact is impressed BIRKS sterling. I believe that Birks are one of Canadas leading silver smiths.
This compact measures about 6 cms diameter.
