Crescent moons were very popular for brooches at the beginning of the 1900s - during the Edwardian era and up till the 1920s. Here is a selection for you to choose from. All are genuinely old pieces of jewellery and are in very wearable excellent condition.
A. Edwardian Crescent Moon £45
This is solid silver with gold tips to the ends and set with sparkling pastes in two rows. It is 4.5 cms long and in very nice condition. All stones present and correct. It is from the Edwardian era circa 1900 to 1909
B. French Crescent Moon Brooch. £45
This has paste stones along the length. It is quite a long piece of jewellery being 6 cms or over2 1/4 inches long. It will add a real touch of sparkle to your clothing. As you can see it fastens on the reverse with a strong C catch. It is stamped as silver and carries a French hallmark.
C. Gold Crescent Brooch £45.
A rather nice antique gold brooch in the shape of a crescent. It is stamped as 9c for nine carat gold. This is a piece of antique jewellery and would have been made somewhere around 1910 to 1920. At just over 1 1/2 inches long ( 4 cms) it is a nice size for wearing on your lapel. In very wearable condition, there is one tiny dent which will not be seen when you are wearing it.
D. Paste Moon Brooch £38.
This one really sparkles, it is made of 800-grade silver and set with diamond-like paste gems. Its a smaller sized brooch at 3/4 inch across. It will date from between 1900 and 1920.
E. Gold Crescent with Pearls Brooch £90.
A special antique brooch made of 9ct gold and being hallmarked for 1889 towards the end of Queen Victoria's reign. It has an attractive floral shape and the decoration is Ivy leaves and a pearl set crescent. Inside the crescent is a star with a further seed pearl in the middle. The brooch is up to 1 1/8 inches diameter.
F. Victorian Crescent brooch £45
A sweet brooch featuring a crescent moon and berried. It is fully hallmarked as 9ct gold and has the date code for 1899.
